The Torgnon municipality is participating with ARPA Valle d’Aosta and CREA Mont-Blanc (Centre de recherches sur les écosystèmes d’altitude) in project TourScience – development of sustainable scientific ecotourism around Mt. Blanc, co-funded in the framework of the Programme INTERREG Italy-France ALCOTRA 2014-2020.
The scope of the Project is to create an innovative and sustainable tourist offer based on the observation of nature and its changes, to make the most of the environmental assets of Mt. Blanc and of Valle d’Aosta, lands that possess a wealth of history and scientific findings about which visitors often know nothing.
CREA Mont-Blanc and ARPA VdA contribute nature-related know-how, while the Torgnon Municipality, consistently with its experience of tourism and strong territorial background, is experimenting with a route for visitors and new products that can make the most of the land and its specific scientific information.
The project, which will have a duration of eighteen months, envisages an overall investment of about 1 million euro.
